THE FARMHOUSE

The Farmhouse at Redford Farm

Built more than 450 years ago, Redford Farmhouse is a home steeped in history and quiet character. Lovingly restored by its owners, Jude and Rupert, the house has been their family home for the past fifteen years. A place filled with warmth, gatherings and everyday life beneath its ancient beams. It’s now time for this beautiful farmhouse to be enjoyed and treasured by more lucky families and friends. Sleeping 10 /12 guests, the house blends the charm of an ancient English home -inglenook fireplace, mullion windows and exposed beams -with the comforts of a thoughtfully restored countryside retreat.

The house sleeps up to 10 guests across five bedrooms and three bathrooms, arranged over three storeys. At its heart is a welcoming sitting room centred around a grand inglenook fireplace with wood-burning stove, perfect for slow evenings by the fire. A playroom and WC provide additional space for children or quiet retreats.

The farmhouse kitchen and dining room form a generous L-shaped space designed for sociable cooking and long, relaxed meals. Underfloor heating warms the stone floors, while double doors open directly onto the courtyard and outdoor kitchen. Here you’ll find a covered seating area with open fireplace, Kamado Joesmoker, gas rings and bar, ideal for relaxed outdoor evenings as the sun sets over the hills.

Upstairs, the south-facing master bedroom enjoys sweeping countryside views and its own dressing room, with a bathroom opposite featuring a roll-top bath. A second bedroom offers a super-king bed with additional trundle beds, while two further king bedrooms provide peaceful places to unwind.

Outside, a south-facing garden and orchard open onto wide views of the Shropshire hills. A level lawn offers space for games and relaxation, while the courtyard and outdoor kitchen create a natural gathering place for long summer evenings.

Throughout the house, historic details remain beautifully visible — Elizabethan mullion windows, antique glass panes and the original Victorian bread oven — carefully preserved during restoration. Natural sheep’s wool and wood-fibre insulation ensure the farmhouse remains cool in summer and wonderfully cosy in winter.

The farmhouse celebrates the beauty of old buildings: gently sloping floors, low beams and winding staircases that speak of centuries past. It is a home for those who appreciate authenticity, warmth and timeless character.

The farmhouse is full of the quirks and character that come with great age, but for those who love historic homes it offers something rare — the chance to stay somewhere where history, comfort and countryside come beautifully together.
